Math problems: a mirror to life
So I'm glancing through the problem set for the chapter I've going to cover in one of my classes; all of the problems are along the lines of "here's an argument, is it logically valid?" And I come to question #13:
If Chris studies, then he will pass the class test. If Chris does not play cards, then he will study. Chris did not pass the class test. Therefore, Chris played cards.

…and all of a sudden, it's ten years ago and I'm sitting across a table in the Lounge, playing bridge with [info]the_real_crispy, who was at the time skipping his topology midterm. (Or was it algebraic number theory? I can't recall.)

Anyhow, vaguely spooky.

Must have been 467 - I wrote 441 (and 367 in fact). Now, given the mark I got on the 441 mid-term, maybe I should have skipped it....

Please do not quote that PoS article that I was interviewed for, but fortunately not misquoted in--even if it was by the editor, and not the authour of said piece (of s___).

It would seem to me that the answer to the argument has a whole lot to do with how logically sound Chris is.
